Mission Statement

The mission of Historic Cold Spring Village is to preserve and interpret the material
culture and traditions of southern New Jersey by presenting visitors with an understanding of the
region’s cultural history and embracing a personal encounter with the past. This is represented
through historic preservation, history education, and heritage tourism.

DEAI Core Values & Goals

HCSV is committed to developing a culture in which every staff member, volunteer, and
visitor feels included and welcomed, striving to build a community where every person feels
respected and valued. This is accomplished by the following:

  • HCSV welcomes families and individuals of all backgrounds and identities to help explore, preserve, and present the history of Cape May County. HCSV is committed to creating inclusive environments and promoting a culture of respect and belonging for all.
  • HCSV expects its staff of full-time, part-time workers, and volunteers to respect the beliefs of others, both within the staff and our diverse range of visitors.
  • HCSV anticipates that everyone who works at or visits Historic Cold Spring Village feels welcomed and able to take advantage of the educational programming and preservation efforts that are offered.
  • HCSV appreciates that the staff will do their best to make all feel welcome. Learning about and understanding different identities and cultures will help HCSV provide a deeper and richer understanding of Cape May County's history and how it is presented.
