Cape May Point Jail
Built: c. 1905. Original Location: Cape May Point. Acquired by HCSV: 1982
The jail now serves as the Family Activity Area, where children can play 1800s games and also make a take-home craft!
This small building was used as a jail for the resort community of Cape May Point, located at the southernmost tip of the county. In 1927, it was moved to a lot behind the present firehouse in that town and became a storage building for the fire company. In 1982, the borough commissioners donated it to Historic Cold Spring Village where it is used today for interactive children’s crafts and games.
