    Feasting on History celebrates "Down Jersey Fare"
    The 17th Annual Restaurant Gala
    Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at 6pm at Naval Air Station Wildwood Aviation Museum at the Cape May Airport
    Sample signature entrees, dishes and desserts from 40 of your favorite restaurants wineries and breweries.
    Tickets are $80 per person or $800 for a table of 10.
    Remember reserved seating will only be assigned to  groups of 10 guests. All other guests will enjoy open seating. Tickets are tax deductible to the extent of the law.

    Interested in the Civil War or World War II? Want to learn about the weaponry and tactics used by the British infantry in the Victorian Era? Or maybe you are just a history buff who loves it all.
    Historic Cold Spring Village will host its annual Military Timeline Weekend on Saturday and Sunday, June 17-18, which will feature encampments, weaponry displays and demonstrations from living history groups depicting various conflicts throughout the centuries.

    Both days will feature demonstrations and vendors of quilting, textiles, knitting, crocheting, basket weaving, broom making, wool dyeing, sheep shearing and more!
    On Saturday, visitors may vote for their favorite quilts in the Welcome Center at the Viewer’s Choice Quilt Show, and on Sunday continue to enjoy the display and see the winners.  A rare wedding quilt, c. 1714, handmade by Cape May Countian Sarah Spicer, will be on display in the Welcome Center for its annual appearance.
    The quilt was restored in 2012 through a grant from the Cape May County Culture and Heritage Commission.
    Regional vendors are attending with quilting and sewing fabrics, yarn, baskets, supplies, and equipment to help inspire the creation of an heirloom project.

    Celebrate all things American at Historic Cold Spring Village’s annual Independence Day Celebration, which will be held on Saturday and Sunday, July 1st and 2nd, from 10am to 4:30pm.
    A variety of patriotic family activities, programs and music will be taking place and the Village’s restored historic buildings will be open, featuring demonstrations of Early American trades and crafts.

    Whaler Yoeman weekend celebrates the Cape May County founding families’ livelihoods, which were tied to the land and the sea.
    Demonstrations and discussions regarding whaling to farming, to trades and crafts that support these early settlers, will be featured.

    The Celtic festival features musical entertainment throughout the grounds, interactive demonstrations and a pub area with all-day live music. The Village’s restored, historic buildings will also be open, with historical interpreters demonstrating the trades and crafts of the 1800s.

    Children will be given a “Pastport” at the start of their Village trip, which can be stamped at the buildings they visit after completing a take-home craft or activity, like writing with a quill pen, carding wool or making a pinch pot.
    Pastports can be redeemed at the Country Store for a free treat! Other family-friendly activities include historic dress up, games and live entertainment.

    The trades, crafts, architecture and lifestyle of the Early American, rural South Jersey farming community are presented. The Village is also home to a working 8-acre organic heritage farm complex.

    Cruise into Historic Cold Spring Village for the Annual Classic and Antique Car Show on Saturday and Sunday, August 12-13. Cars will be on display each day from 10am-3pm. See beautifully restored and preserved vehicles, from muscle cars to light trucks, from the 1910s to the 1980s parked along the Village’s tree-lined, shell-paved lanes. Talk with the owners and learn about the process of restoring a classic automobile as well as the fascinating stories behind their development and use.

    Interested in ghost hunting? Like learning about the supernatural? Visit Historic Cold Spring Village for ‘Paranormal Pursuits’: Spiritualism in the 1800s on Saturday and Sunday, August 19th and 20tht, from 10am to 4:30pm. In addition to experiencing the Village’s 27 restored, historic buildings dating from 1691-1912, guests can enjoy various workshops, demonstrations and tours which highlight the study of spiritualism and the paranormal.

    Authentically clad and equipped reenactors bring the American Revolution to life!
    This event will feature encampments, weaponry and demonstrations from living history groups, including Continentals, Loyalists and Hessians.
    Visitors can experience an artillery demonstration both days. Skirmishes throughout the day.

    Visitors can tour Union and Confederate camps and meet authentically clad and equipped military and civilian reenactors who will discuss the everyday lives of Civil War soldiers and the roles civilians played in supporting them.

    Families can enjoy pumpkin painting and games throughout the day. A variety of crafters will sell their wares along the Village’s shell-paved lanes.
    Vendors will be selling hot dogs, funnel cake, and other snacks.
    Visit a haunted house at the Village Barn and hop on a fall hayride through the farm.

    Step back in time for a lovely autumn evening, when the Friends of Historic Cold Spring Village host the annual Candlelight Walk. Luminaries will line the paths and guide you to several of the Village’s restored historic buildings where wine, beer and a variety of light fare will be served. Guests will also enjoy desserts, live musical entertainment and hot beverages at the Village Pavilion. A special holiday sale at the Country Store will feature heritage wares, books and a wide variety of historical toys.

    The Village paths come alive with the sounds and smells of wintertime at this free family event. Select buildings will be open where guests can enjoy hands-on crafts, live music, a free holiday play, and hot beverages and holiday treats served by historical interpreters in period clothing. Visitors can meet Father Christmas in the Country Store and enjoy a horse-drawn wagon ride throughout the festively decorated Village grounds.
    The Country Store will be open and stocked with unique holiday gift ideas including traditionally-processed wool, artisan crafts for the home, books, jewelry, toys and old fashioned candy.
